What's included
A drop-in visit is a set block of time at your home focused on your pet. For dogs, that means a walk around the neighborhood or time in the yard, fresh water, a meal if it is feeding time, and a few minutes of attention. For cats, we scoop the litter, refresh food and water, and check that everyone is accounted for and acting normally. Medications that can be given with food or by mouth can be handled if you leave clear instructions. We bring in the mail, rotate a few lights and water a plant or two if you ask. After each visit, a short note and a photo go to your Residely dashboard so you know how it went.
Why a drop-in beats boarding for many pets
Dogs and cats are creatures of place. Staying in their own home, on their own schedule, with their own smells and sleeping spots, is far less stressful than a kennel for most pets, and it avoids exposure to illness in a shared facility. For a dog, a midday walk during a long workday breaks up the hours alone and heads off the accidents and chewing that come from boredom. Tallahassee summers add a practical reason: pavement and sand get hot enough to hurt paws in the afternoon, so walks are timed for cooler hours and shaded routes, and we make sure water is fresh when the house is warm. Senior pets and those on medication benefit most from a steady routine.
Scheduling visits around your life
Set up a standing schedule, such as a midday walk on weekdays, or book a block of visits for a trip. Each visit shows up in your Residely dashboard with the team member assigned, and recurring visits are added automatically so you are never left wondering if tomorrow is covered. Tell us about your pet during setup: temperament, leash habits, feeding amounts, hiding places, the vet's number, and anything that would help someone new. Entry instructions are stored with your property, the same way they are for cleaning or pest visits. You pay after each visit, or after the series when you are back. Changes and cancellations are handled from the dashboard.
Questions about in-home pet care
- What does in-home pet care in Tallahassee include?
- Scheduled drop-in visits and dog walks. A visit covers a walk or yard time, food and water, litter, basic medications with instructions, and a quick check of the house. Visits are a set length and can be scheduled as often as you need. Every visit ends with a note and photo in your dashboard.
- How do you handle a dog that is nervous around new people?
- Tell us during setup. Where possible we schedule a short meet-and-greet before the first visit, keep the same team member on your schedule, and follow whatever routine the dog already knows. Notes about leash behavior, triggers and favorite treats go into your pet profile so nothing is left to memory.
- Can you give my pet medication?
- Oral medications and anything mixed into food are fine with clear written instructions on dosage and timing. We do not administer injections. If your pet has a condition that needs more than that, let us know and we will tell you honestly whether a drop-in visit is the right fit.
