What each visit covers
The crew mows the full lawn at the right height for your grass type, since St. Augustine, centipede and zoysia each want a different cut and scalping a Florida lawn in July invites weeds and stress. Hard edges along the driveway, sidewalk and curb are cut with a blade edger for a clean line, and beds, fence lines, mailbox posts and tree rings are string-trimmed. Clippings are blown off the driveway, walkways, porch and pool deck, and out of the beds. Mower blades are kept sharp so the grass is cut rather than torn, which matters in humid weather where ragged tips brown and invite fungus. Each visit is logged in your Residely dashboard with any notes the crew leaves about the yard.
The Tallahassee growing season
Lawns here wake up in March, grow hard from May through September with the rain and heat, and slow down through October before going mostly dormant after the first frost in late November or December. During peak summer, St. Augustine on an irrigated lot can need cutting every week; in spring and fall, every other week usually keeps it tidy. Pine straw and live oak leaves fall nearly year-round, so blowing is part of every visit, not just autumn. Shady lots under the canopy grow thinner turf that needs a gentler cut. The schedule flexes with the season, and you can switch between weekly and biweekly from your dashboard as the growth rate changes.
Booking and what to expect
Choose weekly or every other week online and the first visit appears in your Residely dashboard. You do not need to be home. Keep gates unlocked or add a code to your property notes, pick up toys, hoses and dog waste before the crew arrives, and let them know about sprinkler heads, septic lids or soft spots to work around. The visit is a flat per-visit price shown before you book, and you pay after it is done. The next visit is scheduled automatically. After heavy rain the crew may shift a day to avoid rutting a saturated lawn, and that change shows up in your dashboard.
Questions about lawn maintenance
- How often should lawn maintenance in Tallahassee happen?
- Weekly from late spring through early fall for most irrigated St. Augustine or zoysia lawns, since they can put on several inches in seven days. Every other week works in spring and fall, and for centipede or unirrigated lawns that grow slower. You can change the frequency anytime in your dashboard.
- Does lawn maintenance include fertilizing, weed control or pest treatment?
- No. This service is the cut: mowing, edging, trimming and blowing. Fertilization and weed control involve different products, timing and licensing, and are handled separately. If the crew notices chinch bug damage, fungus or a sprinkler problem, they will note it in your dashboard so you can address it.
- What happens when it rains on my service day?
- Light rain does not stop the route, but a soaked lawn gets skipped or shifted by a day to avoid ruts and clumping. You will see the updated date in your dashboard. During a long wet stretch in summer, the crew may raise the cut height slightly so the lawn is not scalped when it dries.
